Metrohm Autolab seeks a new Product Manager to be responsible for activities related to the Product Marketing Management of the existing and future product portfolios, and also to provide Technical Sales Support to the Sales Organizations.

Description

The Product Manager (PM) contributes actively to managing the product portfolio by identifying and consolidating customer requirements, preparing market and product analysis and supporting the Marketing, R&D, Production, and Applications teams. The PM is actively involved in the creation and execution of different marketing activities (e.g. marketing campaigns, new marketing communication materials, webinars etc.) as well as technical documentation (e.g. user manuals, technical and application notes etc.).

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Product Manager include, but are not limited to:

   - Product Marketing Management:

• Perform market intelligence and product-positioning analysis
• Define market requirements (e.g. prepare Market Requirements Documents) and prepare business plans for new products
• Act as a gatekeeper and Product Owner between the End user and R&D engineers
• “Translate” the user and market requirements into R&D tasks
• Prioritize the implementation of new features based on their business value
• Ensure that the R&D project outcomes comply with market and business requirements (e.g. hands-on testing of newly implemented features)
• Provide content for marketing communication, in close collaboration with the Marketing Communication Manager (e.g. brochures, presentations)
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Attend conferences, special events and exhibitions, organize and execute application and product training webinars

   - Technical Sales Support:

• Help and coordinate with EC Sales Managers in Sales Organizations
• Provide technical support for the existing product portfolio (e.g. help Sales Organization to troubleshoot technical problems in the field)
• Product and Application trainings of EC Sales Managers in Sales Organizations
• QC testing in Lab (occasional)

Educational requirements

• Minimum Master’s degree in Chemistry with work experience in Electrochemistry. Ph.D. is preferred
• Language skills: Must have full professional proficiency in English

Additional, preferred experience

• Business acumen, strong problem solving and analytical abilities, great attention to detail
• Basic understanding of software programming
• Product Ownership (PO) for R&D teams
• Experience in technical product or application management and support
• Experience working with Metrohm Autolab instruments
• Good writing and communication skills
• Must be available for international travelling (about 30% of the time), occasionally during weekends
